In 1958, the Union of Saskatchewan Indians merged with the Queen Victoria Protective Association to form the Federation of Saskatchewan Indians. Later renamed the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations, it is one of the oldest First Nation political organizations in Canada.

Provincial Aboriginal Representative Workforce Council (PARWC)

The Provincial Aboriginal Representative Workforce Council was formally established in February 2000 to develop strategies for delivering training linked to partnership employer job opportunities. PARWC is co-chaired by Saskatchewan First Nations and Métis Relations.

		Initiatives: Aboriginal Role Models In September, 2004, the Provincial Representative Workforce Council teamed with Saskatchewan Job Futures to launch 10 Aboriginal role model posters.
