If you are keen to do business, Northern Affairs can help.  The Division staffs a business support centre in its La Ronge office to assist northern entrepreneurs, businesses, co-operatives, community development corporations, and other organizations. These services include:

• Identification and evaluation of business opportunities;
• advising on business plans and strategies;
• organizational development;
• management counseling and business skills training;
• networking with other key businesses; and other advisory services.

Northern Affairs assists northern co-operatives in planning and development, establishment of policies, key sector strategies, and board training. It also provides technical and advisory support to the Enterprise Regions, including their development of operating plans, budgets and projects. Northern Affairs also provides strategic and developmental assistance to economic sector associations, and actively participates in forums with other agencies and departments.

Staff can assist clients in applying to the Northern Development Fund (see below), and they may be able to direct clients to a wide variety of other funding and training organizations outside of Northern Affairs.
