Métis Electoral Consultation Panel Report

The Métis Governance in Saskatchewan for the 21st Century: Views and Visions of Métis People report was prepared by the Métis Electoral Consultation Panel and presented to the Minister of First Nations and Métis Relations in Regina on July 6, 2005.

The Panel was appointed by the Minister in December 2004 to consult with the Métis community on electoral and democratic reform. The appointment of the panel followed the Minister’s acceptance of the findings in the report into the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan (MNS) May 2004 election by Keith Lampard. Mr. Lampard found many irregularities in voters’ lists and at polling stations and concluded the election had been neither fair nor democratic.
