    Did You Know? In March 2008, the Athabasca Development Limited Partnership - a joint venture of three First Nations and four municipalities - won the first ever Skookum Jim Award from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, for the Partnership's success in furthering Aboriginal employment and involvement in northern Saskatchewan's mining industry Programs First Nations and Métis Women’s InitiativeUnder the First Nations and Metis Women’s Initiative, First Nations and Métis Relations enables provincial Aboriginal women's organizations to undertake special projects and policy development activities of benefit to their respective memberships. First Nations and Métis Relations works with the Saskatchewan First Nations Women's Commission and the Saskatchewan Aboriginal Women's Circle Corporation to administer the initiative. Funding for provincial organizations enables First Nations and Métis women to address priority issues such as family violence, child abuse, health care, education, housing, justice, and social development.
