Aboriginal Employment Development partnerships and the Representative Workforce Strategy are sustainable and focused approaches to First Nations and Métis employment and economic development.

Saskatchewan joined ongoing self-government negotiations between Meadow Lake Tribal Council, representing nine First Nations, and Canada in 1996.

Specific claims arise out of a situation where a First Nation has had reserve land wrongfully or unfairly taken away by the federal government.

Treaty Land Entitlement is a process where the federal and provincial governments are fulfilling Treaty commitments of land made to First Nations.
